Our Dreams are Dashed

You can ignore my last couple of posts. I knew I shouldn't have said anything about this house until we got a definite answer. We are not going to get this house because the lender we were working with would not return our phone calls. All we had to do was get two numbers from her so I could complete an application and turn it in to the non-profit organization. We knew she was out of town this weekend, which is fine, but she said she would be back in the office on Tuesday. I call about 15 times, and she never called me back, so someone else came in and put a full price offer on the house, and we lost it. Our realtor told us it was supposed to be reserved for us, but the organization pretty much ignored that and took someone else's offer.

Needless to say, we are pretty annoyed today at that lender. She has been very uncooperative. We tried for two weeks to make an appointment with her, and she was very slow about communicating with us. Reed is going to file a complaint today because we are so frustrated. We really had our hopes up. I just want to go and find an apartment this weekend, but our realtor, who did work very hard for us, wants to show us a couple more properties, so I can't decided what to do. I want to move and not worry about all of this hassle, but it would be nice to buy a house.

I'm sorry if this post if horribly dramatic. We are just feeling very frustrated today. But tomorrow will be a better day, because it is Patrick's birthday! And we will have nothing but fun tomorrow.

Seriously I'm so sorry for you guys. There are SO many lenders and I hope you guys find a another, better one to work with. They are out there! I would go ahead and look at the properties, if it were me, I mean you never know unless you look and who knows, maybe the house thing might work out after all. Best of luck!!!

I am so sorry guys! Keep looking, right now is a great time to buy, not to mention the $8000 you get back within a few months. Our realtor showed us some preperties but the houses that we liked the best were ones that I found on the mls. Ask your realtor if you can look at houses on the mls yourself. Then you can narrow down properties. The right house for you guys is out there, and there will be more that come on the market. The first house we put an offer on was my favorite house, but it would have been really hard for us to swing it. Heavenly Father watches out for you and will help guide you to the right house! Don't give up, it is super frustrating and stressful, but is worth it in the end (or so I'm told :o) With the lender thing, you don't have to choose a lender until you go under contract, it is just best to be pre-approved. We have looked at houses for months and we are still shopping for lenders. Call around, ask around, and get a bunch of GFE's (good faith estimates) of the house price you can afford. Keep looking though! We have been waiting for almost 4 months to go under contract on a house we put an offer on. I just figure, it'll work out the way it is supposed to :o) And last but not least Happy Birthday Patrick!!!!!
P.S. If you have any questions, we are pretty much pros now at the house thing (not really) but if you have any questions call me!!!!
