Demolition Derby

Saturday night we went with some friends to the demolition derby in St. Anthony. For anyone who doesn't know what a demolition derby is, a bunch of rednecks get together at the fairgrounds to watch crazy people drive around in obnoxiously decorated cars and smash into each other. We go for two reasons: 1) to see how many mullets we can spot, and 2) to see if there will be any cool explosions. Unfortunately, there were no cool explosions this time, but it was still well worth it. This demo derby was for a good cause--they were raising money for the Fremont county Search and Rescue team (those are the guys in the red shirts).

Here are some pictures of the cars:

I don't know if you can see it, but these guys put a shopping cart on top of their car with a baby doll sitting in it.

And the destruction:

Patrick did a really good job. He was awake for almost two hours and didn't get fussy until the very end. This is the expression he had on his face pretty much the whole time.
